Solidarity Canteen of Luang Prabang

since its launch in mid-july, the canteen has fed 10,000 meals to local people in need. we are now feeding, on average, over 110 lunches every day at the canteen and deliver 120 meals to villages nearby on the weekends. the canteen is non-profit and has no political or religious affiliations.   our beneficiaries are screened with help from schools and personal interviews at our welcome desk. ages range from 2 to 93 and the average is 18. meals are well-balanced and healthy, featuring fresh local menus that change every day.   whilst laos has been spared the worst of covid-infections, the economy has been severely impacted, with luang prabang among the hardest-hit areas due to its reliance on tourism. university and vocational students and the un/under-employed have been hardest hit. we do not expect the situation to improve in the near future, so plan to operate as long as we can and are needed. please help us by donating here: https://tinyurl.com/y2mefmja
