the words: equality, diversity, and inclusion are rarely strange words to any industry in our society. this is true for stem (science, tech, engineering and mathematics) and in particular the tech industry. the technology and stem sectors are driven by the people in it and therefore should be truly diverse and equal. talking about equality and diversity can take many forms. solidarity in tech aims to focus on the inclusion of ethnic minorities/poc while supporting other minorities such as gender and neurodiversity. with in-person events, meetings and networking opportunities, solidarity in tech is creating a space where we can all openly talk about personal and company-wide conscious and subconscious ideologies and how to ensure that – we leave no one behind. we aim to: - hold companies accountable by providing yearly reports while also empowering individuals to carry on this conversation on a daily basis. - dispel certain myths about the tech/stem industry and the people within
