founded in 2013, estufas chispa is a social enterprise that creates affordable and environmentally sustainable cooking solutions that meet the needs of guatemalans living in poverty and facilitate their socioeconomic development. our vision is a guatemala in which women and their families prosper through clean cooking technologies that link and transform economic development, social well-being, and environmental conservation. our two models - the chispa plancha and the chispa tortillera - demonstrate 50 to 55% fuels saving, while removing virtually all smoke from the household. in addition to extensive quality testing, we ensure that our products are culturally and socially acceptable through our women-led, user-centric design process.
