saccc - freedom through education the somali american community center colorado, established in 1998, promotes the integration of refugees into the american way of life and the cooperation between colorado's east african communities and local communities. as the first organization to meet the needs of african immigrants arriving in colorado, it serves as an umbrella organization, particularly for the somali, ethiopian and sudanese communities to plan various business, education, health and cultural events in and around colorado. the mission of the saccc is to create, facilitate and advance somali-american collaborative relationships by providing educational opportunities and resources while supporting somali/east african culture and traditional values. by liaising with local businesses and associations, saccc strives to enhance business opportunities and entrepreneurship within its communities. on a number of occasions, it has successfully bridged job-seekers with local job-provider
