somerset rural youth project is a voluntary organisation, registered charity and company limited by guarantee, established in 1997. sryp is a rural regeneration organisation whose mission is to work with young people, encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves and become actively involved in shaping the communities in which they live. by concentrating on young people’s needs and concerns, regeneration targets including measurable social and economic outputs will be met with greater learning and commitment, resulting in cohesive and sustainable communities. to achieve its mission sryp engages and supports young people living in rural areas in a range of social, economic, educational and recreational opportunities designed to encourage social inclusion and life-long learning by:  addressing issues of exclusion, isolation and disadvantage that affect young people  increasing the take up of education, training, employment and enterprise opportunities by young people in somers
