Sommeliers Australia

sommeliers australia is the professional representative body for australian sommeliers. it is a national, not-for-profit hospitality industry organisation governed by a national committee and managed by the executive officer. the organisation began in the early 1990s in victoria and new south wales as separate associations. in august 2007, the two associations merged to form a national body. since then, state chapters in queensland and western australia formed in 2009, followed by south australia and tasmania. sommeliers australia has a growing membership comprised of hospitality, wine and beverage enthusiasts and professionals, from highly motivated newcomers to the most experienced and recognized professionals in the industry.
