sophia foods is a specialty international food brand and distributor with a vision to shorten the distance between american tables and the world’s finest oils, salts, veggies, charcuterie, grains, baked sweets, and spices. founded in 1990 by a young brooklyn couple, candace and danny began sophia foods with a vision to share with their fellow new yorkers the flavors they discovered throughout their youth’s travels in europe, asia, and the middle east. inspired by the fruit of tuscany’s rolling hills, the ancient saltpans of trapani, and the exotic spices of india, they set out to bring the world’s finest food back home, to reinvigorate america’s culture of at-home cooking, and to take down the industry of overly processed, impersonal food. in line with our founder’s mission, today we believe the party starts in your pantry. we are passionate about bringing the best meal to your table, through cooking creatively, eating healthy and fresh food, and sharing it with friends and family.
