there are serious socio-emotional health issues that arise when a child experiences prolonged illness. most children and teens who survive cancer are challenged by permanent physical and psychological side effects. while the physical ailments are usually treated to the best of physicians' abilities, all too often the psychological effects of prolonged and stressful isolation during treatment are overlooked. to help ameliorate these psychological damages, in 2012 we founded sos4cnacer to addresses this problem. sos4cancer is a program for students of all ages to learn how to lead their peers by organizing fundraisers with the goal of supporting children and teens in their community as they fight cancer. sos4cancer uses all monies raised to support these youths where their need is greatest. currently, sos4cancer supports (1) special love, which organizes getaway camps and weekends for children and teens fighting cancer and their families, (2) hopecam, which provides laptops and tablets w
