in 2007, souktel launched the first middle east platform that linked people with jobs and aid via cell phone. today, we design and deliver digital solutions in 30+ countries across africa, asia, and the americas, reaching over a half-million mobile subscribers. our game-changing work is the reason why we’re market leaders: in 2015, the wall street journal declared souktel’s core product “one of five apps bringing the next billion online”. in 2016, we were honored to receive the paypal award for promoting equality through technology. souktel’s investors include sadara ventures (a fund backed by google, cisco, the skoll foundation and the soros economic development fund), and san francisco-based 500 startups--with $2.5m in equity funding raised to date.
