soundaram transport was started in 1956 by a.r.sundararajan(late), member of legislative council of tamil nadu for sivakasi, and later owned and managed by my father k.raman. it had upto 28 buses including route buses and omni buses. it had 350+ employees working during the period of 1965 to 1975. it is one of the proudest the proud early transport companies that served people that operated the first route bus from sivakasi to madurai in the year 1964 and first long distance omni bus running from tirunelveli to madras and also from sivakasi to calicut. post governmentization of private buses during 2000s the company of stalled momentarily and is not operating buses at this moment. we are working on bringing the company back to life by operating new buses.
