soundreef provides and improved way of collecting, managing and paying out music royalties that pays artists, record labels and publishers the royalties they deserve. it provides a transparent system that allows right holders to see exactly where their music is being played, how much it is being played and what they’re earning. soundreef in-store is a background music service that was founded in 2011. its catalogue of 170,000 songs is now heard by 145 million people every month across 11 countries, usually paying right holders far more than they would earn through their national collecting society while saving businesses up to 50% of what they would usually pay for a license to play recorded music. in may 2014, soundreef launched its new live events service, which allows artists to earn royalties from their gigs, paying them far more quickly than their national collecting society, and helps promoters save money on live music licenses.
