Soundwaves Art Foundation

artist tim wakefield takes the digital soundwaves generated during a song's studio recording and transforms them into art by digitally manipulating and coloring the image based on his interpretation of the song's meaning, tempo and emotion. the striking modern art pieces are transferred to canvas where the musicians add a handwritten lyric and personal signature to complete the piece. more than 100 musicians, including coldplay, pink floyd, sir paul mccartney, slash, eric clapton and the killers, have chosen a track for tim to interpret as a soundwave. wakefield uses the same technique to turn sounds associated with sports (crowd noise, fight songs, engine noise, etc.) into stunning visual representations of the moments they celebrate. these are blended with dynamic oil paintings of the sound's corresponding athlete who signs the piece to complete it.
