Soup Bowl Records

soup bowl records is an indie rock label based out of minneapolis, mn. ryan jaroscak and brian schwager, two members of the former minneapolis ska band chicken poodle soup, started the label in april 2007. the label was started in conjunction with the release of the band’s second ep entitled, fridge full of dreams. since then, the label has gone on to sign several young and developing acts from the twin cities and upper midwest. the concept behind the label was to incorporate a wide assortment of genres into the catalog, straying away from most traditional genre specific indie labels and leaning towards a wide artist selection similar to that of a major label. this led to the establishment of the label’s name “soup bowl,” and over the past year, the label has lived up to its name.
