the south-east asia ipr sme helpdesk (previously the asean ipr sme helpdesk) supports european small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) to both protect and enforce their intellectual property rights (ipr) in or relating to south-east asia. these include trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright and geographical indications (gis). available to all eu smes, sme networks, chambers of commerce and industry associations, the helpdesk offers a variety of services and information free of charge in the form of jargon-free, first-line, confidential advice on ip and related issues, training, materials and online resources. individual smes and sme intermediaries can submit ip enquiries directly to the helpdesk via phone, email or in person, getting access to a panel of experts to receive free and confidential first-line advice. we also provide detailed information to be aware of when initiating business dealings with south-east asia through a range of simple, cost-effective measures to
