mission: the south florida hunger coalition (sfhc) is working to eradicate hunger, by acting as a resource for hunger related initiatives, assisting in raising funds and donations, facilitating, advocating, and sharing amongst the various initiatives on behalf of the hungry. company overview: the south florida hunger coalition was formerly the million meals committee. the million meals committee was founded by the coordinating council of broward county in 2001. this ambitious countywide effort was driven by a strategic plan designed to fill and maintain the food pantries throughout the county. by 2004, the children's services council of broward county began to fund committee staff and activities. today, the newly named south florida hunger coalition, 501c3 non-profit, coordinates the efforts of more than 80 agencies in broward, miami-dade, and palm beach counties and is supported by dozens of community partners.
