South Florida Hunger Coalition (Sfhc)

the south florida hunger coalition was founded by the coordinating council of broward county in 2001. today, the south florida hunger coalition (sfhc) is an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit, who, with the support of dozens of community partners, presently coordinates the efforts of more than 75 hunger-related agencies across south florida, including palm beach, broward, miami-dade, monroe, collier, lee, hendry, martin and st. lucie counties. we work to eradicate hunger by acting as a resource, convener and developer of hunger-related initiatives, such as: • the mobile summer breakspot feeding program, an innovative partnership and national success model with meals on wheels south florida, broward county housing authority (bcha), children’s services council of broward county and florida impact, along with more than 25 additional community partners. in 2017, 81 summer breakspot sites served 21,256 children, aged 18 and under, a total of 176,308 meals, with planned expansion region-wide in
