South Philly Food Co-Op

the south philly food co-op is a community of south philadelphia residents who are working together to open a grocery store that uses food as a force for good. slated to open in 2017 at 2031 s. juniper street, the co-op will bring lots of local, fresh, whole and sustainable food at fair prices to the heart of our neighborhood as a community-owned and -controlled enterprise, the co-op will be vibrant community hub, connecting the residents of south philadelphia to each other as well as to local food producers and farmers. our goal is to grow with the community over time, embracing the diversity of the neighborhood, providing jobs and attracting like-minded businesses. more than that, the co-op will be a hub for community and food-centric education, south of south, river to river. by leveraging our combined purchasing power and keeping control local, we believe we can make a meaningful contribution to a thriving, healthy community and a sustainable planet through the power of food.
