South Wales Ironmen Rugby League

south wales ironmen are the only professional rugby league club in south wales. we compete in the kingstone press league,which sits just two divisions below the first utility super league. it is europe’s most geographically diverse competition featuring clubs from newcastle in north east england to toulouse in france and toronto in canada from this season. we also compete in the ipro sport league 1 cup and the ladbrokes challenge cup.we are rebranding for the coming 2017 season. a new ground, new name and new playing kit, which will feature the club’s new crest. a new website will be launched and we will have a new presence on social media.our new name reflects the proud tradition and history of the region.merthyr tydfil is a town built on iron and, at one point, was the largest producer of iron in the world. we will play the 2017 season at wern sports park home of merthyr rfc. the season extends from march to september each year; rugby league is a great summer sport for those months.t
