southall black sisters, a not-for-profit, secular and inclusive organisation, was established in 1979 to meet the needs of black (asian and african-caribbean) women. our aims are to highlight and challenge all forms gender related violence against women, empower them to gain more control over their lives; live without fear of violence and assert their human rights to justice, equality and freedom. southall black sisters provides information, advice, advocacy, practical help, counselling and support to women and children experiencing domestic and other forms of gender-related violence. our holistic services are aimed at helping all women escape violence and abuse and to this end we address a range of inter related problems such as: * rape and sexual abuse * forced marriage * honour crimes * sexual harassment * dowry related abuse * matrimonial issues * child residence and contact * housing and homelessness * immigration and asylum * suicide, self harm, mental health and depression * pol
