Southeast Ohio Fibershed

southeast ohio fibershed is an affiliate of the main fibershed organization based in san geronimo, california. our focus starts with our region’s history and melds that with current textile practice. sheep are a large part of the historical food- and fiber-sheds in this area, and, for a lot of reasons, the wool from these animals generally goes to waste. we work to change this perspective that wool has no value. as society moves toward the development of sustainable grass-grown textiles on a global level, we hope to show farmers their wool has value by identifying and developing supply chains for it. please follow us as we move forward with this process. if you are a farmer of sheep or other fiber bearing animal, please fill out our wool inventory survey here: https://tinyurl.com/woolinventory .
