programming: as an organization promoting the nexus point between social justice and art-making, sea not only celebrates the creativity of artists from all backgrounds and cultures but also highlights the power of art to shine a light on societal issues and themes, encouraging self-reflection and calls to action. sea amplifies voices and mobilizes people to make the change they want to see in the world. in this way, the organization is a social movement that recognizes the potential for art to “convene, connect and catalyze” diverse constituencies toward a common goal. to accomplish this, sea runs the following programs: ▪ juried equity art exhibitions (the “justice series”) – the centerpiece of sea’s work is its juried equity art exhibitions which provide local artists with the opportunity for exposure and cash prizes. pre-covid, these exhibitions took place at the trolley museum to coincide with the south end gallery crawl on the first friday of each month. during the pandemic, t
