the south of england agricultural society is a registered charity that was founded in 1967 from a consolidation of agricultural societies that date back to the 1830s. the society operates from the south of england showground, a 150-acre site situated just outside ardingly village in the heart of the west sussex countryside. our aims and objectives are to promote agriculture and allied industries and to advance education in agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture and forestry the society organises and hosts shows and events that promote farming, agriculture and the countryside, including its flagship event, the south of england show, which takes place in june each year. the society also delivers a wide range of educational events and services including conferences, seminars, school and college information days and competitions. it supports and sponsors educational projects, bursaries and awards and forges alliances with the european farming community through our international far
