southfield christian school, a ministry of highland park baptist church in southfield, michigan, is a college-preparatory, pk-12, educational community committed to pursuing excellence for the glory of god. as such, we believe in adherence to an absolute standard, which we find revealed in the bible. we are committed to truth and truthfulness, and to the development of christian character. this spiritual focus is the foundation of education at scs, reinforced through daily bible classes, weekly chapels, annual spiritual life week and the commitment of teachers and staff to demonstrate by word and example what it means to experience a personal relationship with jesus christ. first opening in 1970 with grades k-8, the school graduated its first senior class in 1975. more than 500 students are currently enrolled in grades pk-12. southfield christian represents approximately 40 cities and 100 different churches from the tri-county area of metropolitan detroit. in keeping with our emphasis
