the south of ireland language centre, was established in 1969 and its courses are organised at the cork institute of technology. as a family run business, we have nearly 50 years of experience in providing quality english language courses to students of all nationalities. the activities at our school are designed to immerse students in all aspects of our unique irish culture. cultural immersion in an english speaking country is the most effective way to improve one’s english. all of our programmes require that students live with host families where english is the mother tongue. in many cases, other students of a different nationality will stay in the same host family. school activities are organised so that students have a unique experience in the pillars of irish culture, namely: - education - history and heritage - landscape - irish sports - irish music and dance - irish language - irish literature
