southport-oak island area chamber of commerce voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who work together for the purpose of encouraging growth as well as the economic progress of the community. our community includes the municipalities of bald head island, boiling spring lakes, bolivia, caswell beach, oak island, st. james, southport and sunset harbor. the southport-oak island area chamber of commerce is a membership based organization. we provide benefits and services to our member businesses as well as area information to the general public. the chamber plans events such as the southern cape fear bridal showcase, oak island lighthouse 5k, 10k, & 1/2 marathon, u.s. open king mackerel tournament, coastal consumer showcase, phlock to the beach a buffett style beach bash and christmas by the sea parade.
