sowers education group's rachel thomas is a dynamic educator who speaks from the heart and aims at the head. she educates and challenges her audiences to 1) fight against the increasing danger of domestic human trafficking and 2) think critically about the media’s damaging messages. a graduate of emory university in atlanta (bachelor’s degree), and ucla (master’s degree in education), rachel has over 10 years’ experience in teaching, mentoring, curriculum writing and public speaking. she has educated and inspired a wide range of audiences including teens, parents, social workers, church groups, college students, human trafficking survivors and law enforcement. in each presentation, rachel makes sure to incorporate two important, yet often overlooked, topics relating to domestic human trafficking: 1) pop culture’s glorification of promiscuity and pimping, and 2) the ceo pimp who, in contrast to romeo pimps and gorilla pimps swindles his prey under the guise of legitimate business.
