sozo friends is committed to producing great wine. but our passion is serving the poor. we began this winery for the simple purpose of creating community around and sustainable funding for those that serve the poor. in 2011, our first full year, our wines won best of class, 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals at the los angeles and san francisco wine competitions. we were welcomed onto the wine list at 70 restaurants in seattle proper, representing the best in the city. we have provided funding for over 60,000 meals to those in need. we bring together restaurants, businesses and individuals as circles of friends around each food bank and overseas relief groups in an effort to serve the poor.
