Space and Satellite Systems

the space and satellite systems club (sss) at uc davis is the only student-run organization on campus devoted to the pursuit of space technologies. we're currently developing the first satellite to be designed, manufactured, and tested solely by undergraduates at uc davis. our current satellite mission is the remote experimentation and analysis of low orbit phenomena, or realop, and is tasked with collecting and relaying data on environmental observations to an online tool designed to teach students of all levels how to program and analyze data with the intent of reaching scientific conclusions. the mission is a part of nasa's cubesat launch initiative (csli), and we are currently seeking financial support for other costs associated with the mission. additionally, this year, we are beginning a high-altitude balloon (hab) educational program to introduce more uc davis students to the skills and processes involved in engineering group work while also supporting the realop mission via a s
