belda society to promote awareness and concern for environment is a small grassroots not-for-profit non-government organisation(ngo), publicly known as 'space', duly registered under west bengal act xxvi of 1961, aiming to focus its activities primarily on the issue of the environment. the issues of conservation, sustainability, peace, harmony in the frontiers of socio-economic and cultural scenarios, and empowerment of underserved sections of people are intended to be addressed as our concerned thrust areas. our emphasis is basically to make people aware of the challenges encompassing the mega concept of the environment. our plan is to build the capacity of the people of the operational area so that they are empowered to combat the challenges and bring about a desired change in the realities. we believe the change process will directly or indirectly contribute to the well-being of the people. in its journey towards sustainable development, ‘space’ has learnt from its experience whil
