Space Studios

space’s mission is to support artists and other creatives from throughout their careers, but with particular attention to emerging practice and technologies. we aim to increase the diversity of creative practitioners and to ensure that they are fully valued at the heart of society. as a charity, since 1968, we have become london’s largest provider of affordable creative studio space, with nearly 700 tenants, across 18 london sites. our primary role is the provision of affordable workspace in order for our tenants to focus on taking creative risks. we also support artists to develop their skills through exhibitions, artist residencies, commissions, training and innovative digital workshops. space's extensive learning and participation programme supports young people, specifically from deprived inner london boroughs, to experience the richness of the visual and media arts and find opportunities to develop careers in this field.
