we are team spacehopper and will develop a legged robot that can get to specific scientifically interesting sites on asteroids. our robot takes advantage of the low-gravity environment by traversing large distances efficiently through controlled hopping motion. precise landings are possible thanks to the robot’s legs and ability to reorient during the flight phase of the jumps. to carry out further examinations on site, the robot can perform short-distance locomotion and support the weight of a scientific payload. in a further iteration, space-graded quality will be achievable without changing the robot‘s core functionalities or elements.
