spare thoughts landscape design is (umm..) a landscape design and project management service with experience in urban ecology, agroforestry and permaculture in service of households, community organisations and local business based in south east melbourne. we are about growing productive green spaces that adapted to us and our environment and fostering a healthy biodiversity in the environment our community lives in. we love creating organic edible gardens filled with interesting heirloom varieties interspersed with nectar filled indigenous shrubs, and colourful flowers amongst hardy native ground covers that are buzzing with life. using natural forms, textures and elements like trees and ponds we can make micro-climates, allowing for little hotspots of diversity to emerge. using rainwater systems and worms to help the garden regenerate we minimise need for external inputs and with good design we take advantage of opportunities to create household benefits such as insulation, shading o
