Sparks Within Reach

sparks within reach is a student-powered, grassroots non-profit organization based in new york city combating the growing education disparity within the united states. we provide a personalized supplemental education service for under-resourced houseless students to help expand the opportunities available and to inspire a passion for dreaming. we are not the end-all solution to education disparity, but we are dedicated to bridging the gaps of a deeply flawed system. we train our volunteers to become socially aware educators and activists in their own communities. we create personalized curricula and develop activities that emphasize intellectual and emotional growth. our instructors use their skills to implement personal care through one-on-one sessions with their students. furthermore, we provide services specific to our students, whether it be homework help, summer school, or even a relaxing bonding experience.
