Spartanauts

the field of space exploration and technology has been booming over the past decade, with significant resources being dedicated to nano-satellites and cube-satellites (cubesats). however, space still remains largely inaccessible to the average consumer, and maintenance costs remain considerable for satellites. cubesats have reduced these costs, but there is much more advancement that can be made. spartanauts is an academic research organization, at san jose state university, which investigates cost effective designs for cubesats. past projects have included a pulsed plasma thruster design for nano-satellites, as well as a test model 3u cubesat prototype. spartanauts attempts to demonstrate the efficacy of designs by constructing, validating, and testing in a university research setting.
