spartech is a multidisciplinary, efficiency focused design team part of the society of automotive engineers (sae) collegiate chapter from the university of puerto rico, mayagüez campus (uprm). founded in 2021, the crew is formed by collegiate members from many disciplines within engineering and sciences. this yearly competition takes pride in pushing the boundaries of fuel-efficiency through challenging conditions and engineering specifications that further promote the development of efficiency-focused vehicles for a better future. the crew’s goal consists in designing an extremely fuel-efficient vehicle that is lightweight and safe that can run for the highest miles-per-gallon (mpg) possible while complying with the engineering constraints.
