the special abilities network (san) was founded with the mission of empowering every family in the u.s. caring for a loved one with special needs. we provide comprehensive, specialized financial planning services that are uniquely tailored to fit the needs and aspirations of special needs families. in other words, we aren’t a traditional financial services firm. our experience showed us that traditional financial planning may not adequately address individuals with special needs. we found that working with financial advisors that specialize in special needs families, there is more awareness on how to avoid inadvertent mistakes in positioning or titling assets that could have a negative impact—possibly resulting in special needs children having less access to or becoming ineligible for certain benefits once they turn 18. each of our special care planners also holds the chsnc designation. that means we have undergone the specialized education and training that enables us to provide spe
