sabine’s life story is fascinating, even if, for just one moment, you would forget that she does not have any arms! born and raised in germany, she arrived in albuquerque, nm, by way of france, africa, switzerland, south america, canada, alaska, colorado and idaho. in 1983 she gave birth to her son and continued school in france, studying psychology. after she and her husband divorced, sabine, now a single mom, took her son to canada, where she worked as a translator. after a visit to alaska, she liked it so much, she moved there and raised her son while working with the alaskan natives. in 1994 she turned her artistic talents to creating the beautiful spirit dancer dolls, who have been highly publicized on alaskan tv channels and pbs. when her son graduated from high school and went out on his own, she decided, to move on as well. she left alaska to fulfill a dream of living in taos, new mexico. sabine and her partner, rick cordova, live in albuquerque, new mexico where they now work
