the mission of special gifts theatre is to foster self-confidence, social, speech and language skills in individuals with disabilities, using educational and therapeutic techniques with the stage as the platform, integrating creativity and fun. special gifts theatre offers 12 programs in 7 locations in the north and northwest suburbs and northwest side of the city of chicago for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 7 through adult and typically developing peer mentors. special gifts theatre employs a multi-disciplinary team of occupational, physical, speech/ language, and dance/movement therapists; special education and general education teachers, as well as theatre arts professionals.
