Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games

the special olympics canada 2014 summer games are a national, multi-sport event, hosting amateur athletes from 12 provincial and territorial jurisdictions. the 2014 games will take place from july 8-13, 2014 at ubc and locations within the lower mainland. these summer games are held every four years and are governed by special olympics canada (soc). the 2014 games will be the largest special olympics canada summer games in canadian history. approximately 1,800 athletes, coaches, and officials from across canada are competing in one of 11 sports. it will be the first time that basketball, golf and bocce are hosted at the national games level. these national games are also the qualifying event to select those athletes who will represent canada at the 2015 special olympics world summer games in los angeles, california.
