met 2500 sporters, 1000 begeleiders, 1500 vrijwilligers en duizenden toeschouwers is special olympics nationale spelen 2016 hét grootste landelijke evenement voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. daarvan mag iedereen die ouder is dan acht jaar en minimaal zes maanden heeft getraind in een van de 17 toernooisporten deelnemen aan de nationale spelen op 1,2 en 3 juli in nijmegen, wijchen en groesbeek. om dit prachtige evenement te organiseren is de stichting special olympics nationale spelen (sons) 2016 opgericht. naast een mooi sportfeest streven we ernaar meer verstandelijk gehandicapten (meer) te laten bewegen door bewustwording te vergroten en samenwerking te zoeken met relevante partijen. maar we richten ons niet alleen op de nationale spelen. op 1,2 en 3 juli wordt ook de eerste wandel3daagse gehouden. dit is een mars van drie dagen die op vrijdag 1 juli begint en die dag finisht in het goffertstadion, waar alle wandelaars de openingsceremonie van de nationale spelen kunnen
