founded in 1974, species360 is a non-profit ngo serving the global community of zoos, aquariums and other wildlife organizations in 90+ countries. our mission is to facilitate international collaboration in the collection and sharing of knowledge on animals and their environments. world standard with almost half a century of global animal information and best practices within a thriving community of member institutions, species360 has long been recognized as the world-standard best practice for animal records management. zims data is preferred by international regulatory bodies worldwide, such as cites. the world association of zoos & aquariums (waza) recommends zims to all their members, and the european association of zoos & aquariums (eaza) requires their members to be species360 members. over 93% of the zoo members in the american zoo & aquarium association (aza) are also species360 members.
