spin-darc has repurposed the common optical disk drive (dvd) to rapidly identify and quantify pathogenic bacteria in any swabbed or liquid sample, without culturing or amplification. this rapid, low-cost microbial detection method can be widely adopted by primary & urgent care clinics to rapidly diagnose and treat bacterial infectious at the point of care. we are also exploring potential applications in animal diagnostics, food testing, and water testing.
