the spinning chicken workshop is the combined efforts and creativity of jim and margie elkins. they have been combining their talents since 2002. each has their own strengths but together the products created in the spinning chicken workshop are each an “original” and made with love. jim's creative nature comes from his mother jennie, who was well known for her sewing and painting. over the years jim has used his talents in many areas. calligraphy, photography and cabinetry are just a few of the crafts that he enjoys. jim's current endeavors are wood turning, band and scroll saw work as well as chainsaw carving. margie’s creative side comes from both her father robert and her mother frances miller. her father brought the wonderful world of tools and wood into her life as well as the belief that anything and everything can have multiple uses so you never know what she may use to make something or include as part of a project. her mother taught her the use of color and fabric. both rober
