spiters is an indie band formed in 2020 in rio de janeiro. the band consists of lucca pinho (lead vocals/guitar), joão pedro bueno (lead guitar/bass) and matheus duarte (drums/vocals). on 9 july 2021 the band released it’s debut track “stuck in that girl”. it all started as a hobby when joão pedro reached out to lucca (who was into poetry by the time) with a guitar riff he had written, wondering if maybe some words would show up. the group was formed in 2018 by the name of “rascaline” to play a gig in their hometown (uff). at that point matheus was invited to play the drums and former guitarist rafael bastos to play the guitar. they played for two consecutive years at the “redbull bts”, an event promoted by redbull in order to give space to emerging artists around brazilian universities. in 2020, due to covid issues and divergences in music taste, the group came to an end with no songs released. by the end of that year lucca and matheus gathered once again to record a couple of song
