gradschoolloans.com started because our medical friends had hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, and they wanted to figure out a way to defer their payments and lower their interest rates. in medical school, they were provided with 8 different loans from the government – none of which had interest rates that were specific for future doctors. as a result, our friends and thousands of other borrowers were annually charged an interest rate that was too high. this process never made sense to us, and we decided that we wanted to create a company that's different. not only is the customer experience a key part of our focus, but we look at unique underwriting criteria such as future job prospects and educational background as part of our loan approval process. this allows us to offer lower rates than the standard government student loans for medical professionals. each of our customers is more than just a name to us, and we work day and night to make sure you know that.
