spokane public schools is the largest school district in eastern washington and the second largest in the state. we offer our diverse population of approximately 30,000 students a portfolio of school options, allowing families the freedom to choose the school that is right for their child. the best fit may be their neighborhood school, or one with a certain focus or different way of learning. more choices mean we are better able to match learning styles, and are better preparing students to successfully complete some form of higher education: technical, 2-year or 4-year. of our 3,226 employees, 1,758 are classroom teachers, who have an average of 13 years' experience. roughly 74 percent have at least a master's degree. a volunteer team of more than 13,000 assists our students and staff throughout the district by reading with students, helping teachers prepare classroom materials and chaperone field trips, and running school events like carnivals and math nights. learn more about us
