Spokane Service Team- Americorps

americorps is a network of national-service programs that engages more than 80,000 members each year to meet education, public safety, health, human, and environmental needs. this may include mentoring youth, building affordable housing, assisting veterans and military families, providing health services, running after-school programs, helping communities respond to disasters, and much more. members serve in thousands of non-profits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations each year. they receive a modest living allowance, and an education award at the end of their service to put toward secondary education costs. the spokane service team builds community through housing development and education. americorps state/national members serve as tutors in low-income schools, assistants in public housing or environmental agencies, or learn construction skills while building and maintaining low-income houses for individuals with disabilities in our community.
