we make splat. splat is a device that plugs into your smartphone and transforms it into the ultimate face-to-face gaming console. splat is a device that plugs into your smartphone allowing you to play pure fun, face-to-face, social games. for the past 30 years, entertainment has been filtered through boxes: arcade machines, televisions, computer monitors, laptops, and now smartphones. while all of these provide value, there has been very little innovation in direct, face to face gaming. this type of gaming includes board games, cards, and active games like tag, manhunt, or humans vs zombies. gaming consoles are striving to become more and more mobile, through portable gaming devices like nintendo 3ds and the nvidia shield, as well as more active, through innovations such as wii u, wii fit, and xbox kinect. however, none of these technological solutions really innovate in this untapped space of active / face-to-face gaming, the real social fun.
