Sport Wellington

sport wellington is the independent body for sport and recreation and is committed to everyone in the greater wellington region having a life-long involvement in sport and active recreation. sport wellington is a regional sports trust (rst) established in 1990 with charitable status under the charities act. the rst operates within a wide geographical area, spanning the region between otaki in the west across to masterton in the east and wellington city in the south. the region encompasses eight territorial authority areas (matching the wellington regional council area) with a population of 487,700. sport wellington promotes, develops and supports sport and recreation in the wellington region. we operate with the vision that everyone in the greater wellington region have a lifelong involvement in sport and active recreation. from getting started with physical activity to running cigna round the bays, from supporting school sport to sport development, we're here to help.
