Sportmanagement Ghent University

research within the research group sportmanagement at ghent university, department of movement and sports sciences, focuses on effectiveness in sport aiming to professionalise sport policy and sport management. we investigate how sports policy and the management of sports organisations can be strengthened through professionalisation, taking into account the specificities and values of the sector, such as ethical aspects and inclusion. we do this in two research tracks; (1) effectiveness of the sport-for-all policy through partnerships between and with sport organisations and (2) effectiveness of an ethical and socially responsible approach in sport organisations. in addition, as holder of the olympic chair henri de baillet latour - jacques rogge, the research group sportmanagement strives for research and education in which the olympic values are central. the research group sportmanagement also offers the master of science programme in movement and sports sciences sport policy and sp
